Built before 1890 as "Albany Hall". 1896 converted into a live theatre by J. C. Bourne. Opened 4 Oct 1897 as "Royal County Theatre" with Stanley Weyman's play "Under the Red Robe". Closed 22 June 1912. 1912-1914 used as a cinema. Re-opened 27 Dec 1915 as "New Revue Theatre". Renamed "Royal County Theatre" in Aug 1916. Closed 1917. Re-opened 29 Nov 1917 as "Super Cinema". 1939 renamed "County Cinema". Destroyed by fire on 9 Feb 1940. Remains converted into retail space in 1955.
