First cinema on the site opened 1913 as "Kinoteatr Pegas". Built by A. A. Folbaum for the trading house A. Khanzhonkov & Co. (hence the name "Dom Khanzhonkova" for the building). 1918 renamed "Kinoteatr Gorn", in the 1920s renamed "Kinoteatr Mezhrabprom". 1936 major rebuilding by D. N. Chechulin, re-opened as "Kinoteatr Moskva". In the 1950s the cinema was incorporated in a new multi-story government building on ths site. 1978 rebuilding. Closed 2004.
