[First theatre on the site built 1755 for the Grimani family. Opened 6 Dec 1755 with Gioacchino Cocchi's oper "Zoe". Destroyed by fire on 5 Feb 1774.]

Second theatre built 1774-1775 by Pietro Checchia. 1787 renamed "Teatro Venier", 1810 renamed "Teatro Gallo", 1868 renamed "Teatro Rossini". 1937 converted into a cinema, major rebuilding by Carlo Scarpa, including a new facade. Renamed "Cinema Rossini". 2012 converted into a multiplex cinema.
