Country: Italy (Italia) Region: Abruzzo City: L'Aquila Location: Piazza del Teatro Built 1857-1872 by Luigi Catalani. Opened 14 May 1873 with Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Un ballo in maschera". Severely damaged by the earthquake on 6 April 2009. 2015-2017 rebuilding. The building contains two halls: the main theatre (600 seats) and a concert hall (Ridotto, 220 seats). Home to the "Teatro Stabile dell'Abruzzo" (TSA) drama company. |
