Built 1825 by Baurat Steiner, replacing a previous "Hoftheater" (built 1779, destroyed by a fire in 1825). Opened 3 Sep 1825 with Rossini's "Semiramide". 1868 interior rebuilding. Demolished 1906 in favour of a new Hoftheater (today's Deutsches Nationaltheater).
