Built 1873-1876 by Richard Lucae. Opened 6 May 1876 with Goethe's "Egmont" (with incidental music by Ludwig van Beethoven). Originally ca. 1300 seats, later ca. 1200 seats. Destroyed in World War II. Remains demolished in 1958.
