Built 1874 as "Carl-Theater" for the theatre dircetor, Carl Damm. Opened 11 Oct 1874. Various rebuildings. 1887 renamed "Carola-Theater" in honour of Carola of Vasa, Queen of Saxony. 1902 renamed "Leipziger Schauspielhaus". Operated as a private theatre. Used for drama performances. Destroyed by bombs in the night of 3/4 Dec 1943.
