Built 1911 as "Neue Halle", a concert and multi-purpose event hall on the Alexanderhöhe hill. Soon known as "Park-Theater". 1961-1964 major rebuilding and conversion into a theatre by Ernst Dossmann and Hans Reime (addition of a stagehouse, rebuilding of the auditorium, rebuilding of the tower). Re-opened 4 Apr 1964. 1969 exterior rebuilding. 1971 addition of a studio theatre. Major renovations in the 2000s.
