Opened 24 July 1853 as "Wörmer's Conventgarten", a beer garden with a music stand. 1854 extended by a concert and multi-purpose hall. 1867 rebuilding. 1871 extension (1100 seats) and installation of a pipe organ. Later again extended to 1500 seats. Destroyed by bombs on 24 July 1943. [Remains demolished. Later, the Axel Springer publishing house headquarters were built on the site.]
