Closed 1912. 1918 converted into a cinema, re-opened as "CT-Lichtspiele". 1939 renovations. Damaged by bomby in 1945, subsequently rebuilt and re-opened 1946. 1954 and 1962 renovations. 1969 renamed "Kino der Deutsch-Sowjetischen Freundschaft". Closed 1980. 1981 converted into a theatre and re-opened as "Neues Theater". Subsequently extended in neighboring buildings to form the "Kulturinsel" cultural quarter with additional halls for puppet theatre, a studio theatre, a club and library.
