Assembly hall built in medieval times as an extension of the Palas of Wartburg Castle. In the mid-19th century rebuilt and redecorated in historicist style. Used for concerts, including (since 2003) for an annual concert performance of Wagner's "Tannhäuser oder der Sängerkrieg auf der Wartburg" that is set at the Wartburg. There is a copy of the hall in Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II of Bavaria.
