Country: France Region: Île-de-France Department: Paris City: Paris Location: XVI.; place du Trocadéro-et-du-11-Novembre (place du Trocadéro) Conference centre, concert hall and museum complex, built 1878 by Davioud and Bourdais for the Paris World Exposition 1878. Concert hall (i. e. the central part of the building) demolished in 1937. Subsequently, extensive rebuilding of the remaining parts of the building. Re-opened 1937 as "Palais Chaillot", containing a theatre and several museums. The Trocadéro's 1878 Cavaillé-Coll pipe organ was saved and first transferred to the "Palais Chaillot".
