First theatre on the site built 1848. Destroyed by a fire on 21 Jan 1901, with only the exterior walls surviving.

Second theatre built 1901-1903 by Tony Ferret and Georges Ferret within the walls of the former theatre. Opened Aug 1903 with Victor Hugo's drama "Hernani". 1995-1997 renovations. 2009-2012 exterior renovations. 616 seats.
