[First entertainment venue on the site opened ca. 1835 as "Cirque Olympique". Second theatre built 1867 as "Théâtre Louit". 1879 renamed "Folies Bergère", 1883 renamed "Bouffes-Bordelais". Destroyed by fire in 1888.]

Built 1890. Opened as "Théâtre des Arts". 1907 rebuilding, reopened as "Apollo-Théâtre". 1932 converted into a cinema and re-opened as "Cinéma Apollo". 1952 rebuilding. Demolished 1972 in favour of the new "Cinéma Ariel" multiplex (rebuilt 1997 and reopened as "UGC Ciné Cité Bordeaux").
