Built 1829 as a wooden circus building. 1859-1860 converted into a theatre by Karl Ohmeyer (with addition of a stagehouse) and operated as municipal theatre ("Stadttheater"). Closed 31 May 1899. Subsequently mostly demolished. 1956 major rebuilding by Rudolf Vorderegger as a cinema and café. Closed 1990. Since 1995, a side wing is used as a youth theatre by Theater Graz. The main building is used as a nightclub and events location.
